Create a Parade
I came across a story this week that really resonated with me. For those of you that have children (or can remember being one 🙂), the phrase "I’m bored" comes up quite often.
Will it Matter in 5 Years?
I read this quote this week and it struck me as such a great reminder… "If it's not going to matter in five years, don't spend more than five minutes being upset by it."
We often get caught up in the little things that don’t matter and allow it to spoil our day.
R U in Control
As many of you already know I am a HUGE control freak. 😊
It has often served me well over the years, but it can also be a huge burden and something that can hold me back. I was blessed this week with a situation and being completely out of control. I was horribly stressed over it and in complete unrest. But I learned something very freeing too.
Where are you spending your time?
What is getting too much of my time right now? What is getting too little?
Stop and Feed the Goats
Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it. – Mandy Hale
Are You Connected?
I am in the middle of moving offices, and I came across this photo. This is the first big managers’ retreat we had with our leadership team. It gives me such joy and comfort to know that even 10 years later we are more connected now than we were then.
Today We Remember
Today, we remember all the brave people that selflessly gave their lives for our country and our freedom.
The Red Queen Effect
The current market certainly feels like a race in wonderland. The faster we run, the more we stay in the same place or even fall behind. If you do nothing, you will lose ground or run harder just to stay where you are. This concept is often referred to as the Red Queen Effect.
Demons Hate Fresh Air
he demon’s hate fresh air - Austin Kleon
No matter what you do for a living, life can be filled with stress. Some days are better than others, and some seasons are over the top FILLED to the brim with it.
Life's too short to not enjoy ice cream :)
Life’s too short to not enjoy sunshine and ice cream on these beautiful spring days!!! Cheers!
Builders vs Takers
Are you a builder or a taker? Do you make things and create value, or do you consume them? Is your circle of influence filled with builders or takers?
Competition
THE HARDER THE PROBLEM, THE MORE LIMITED THE COMPETITION
I’m most known for building a builder JV platform from scratch.
He is not here
Without the pain and sadness of a Good Friday there is not the goodness and Glory of an Easter Sunday! He has gone ahead of us and always will.
Less But Better
I’ve noticed that gaining success in areas like… work-life balance, financial freedom, career growth, diet, parenting etc. all come from adopting the concept of “eliminating the nonessential”. Focusing your efforts on the “vital few instead of the trivial many” always gives you the biggest bang for your buck.
Move Through the Market
Last week’s markets were filled with fear and uncertainty driven by banking seizures and liquidity issues. Although the central banks were quick to react to contain the issues this week’s financial markets may not feel much different.
Rate Drops and Silicon Valley Bank Collapse
More drama in the market this week. The collapse of two banks last week dropped mortgage rates and will have an impact on the Fed’s plans for subsequent rate increases.
See you at the finish line!
QI is almost gone. How are you doing on you 2023 growth and fitness goals? A few of us needed a little motivation to accelerate our efforts so we started a March Miles Challenge.
This Too Shall Pass
We are on sabbatical this week and have been traveling through Death Valley, Lake Havasu, and Sedona on our road trip. All great spots to visit and I would highly recommend each of them for different reasons.
