Zoom Out
I saw this post and thought it was hilariously true — not just for your 401k or the current market, but for life too. Zooming in causes things to seem distorted, zooming out gives you clarity. Every time I find myself stuck, frustrated, or convinced there is no way forward, it’s almost always because I’m too zoomed in. I’m staring at one detail, or one obstacle — and missing the broader view.
Where are you zoomed in right now?
Where are you missing the bigger picture of what you want to accomplish or where you want to go?
What mission are you on? What might your current situation make possible? Where could the opportunity be hiding?
Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t about doing more — it’s about seeing it differently. Zoom out, shift your perspective, and you’ll find the opportunity that’s been waiting for you.
Notes that Resonated
What are three things you can rejoice in today, even if life isn’t perfect?
Hard times create strong folks. Strong folks create good times. Good times create weak folks. Weak folks create hard times.
Life tends to meet you as you get moving; the more you move, the more opportunities life throws at you
Through accepting challenges, people transform… what challenge are you accepting?
Ask yourself.. will this make your boat go faster?
Pruning is necessary process, while painful, it makes room for what’s coming
Things that are healthy and alive are always changing (the opposite it true too)
A hero transforms by facing and overcoming obstacles, not by avoiding them
“If you live each day with purpose, the story of your life will be epic.”
Meaning is not found — it’s created.

Local Asian, Mexican, and Mediterranean Markets
I went on a mission this week looking for local specialty markets and if you have never done this you’re going to be surprised what great food they have to offer at reasonable prices. I found so many cool things that I would never find at my local grocery store. If you are in San Antonio here are three you should visit.
Culebra Meat Market (Mexican)
Ali Baba International Foods (amazing hot fresh naan bread)
Asian Super Market (Wincrest) All things Asian and the freshest and craziest fish selection you have ever seen.

Donabe
I discovered a new way to cook rice and other Japanese or “claypot” dishes
Donabe (doh-NAH-bay) is Japanese traditional earthen cookware. The Kanji characters that make up the word mean, literally, “clay pot”: do (土) is “clay” or “earth,” and nabe (鍋) is “pot.” Donabe ware is versatile, and you can use it for a hot pot, soup, or stew; for steaming, making rice, or various other styles of cooking. It is designed to be used over a gas or open flame.
